Hey! My names Joanne! I'm a 33 year old teacher, part time copy writer and newly turned Amour Skincare enthusiast and I'm here to tell you a little story!
Imagine turning up to a skin clinic and telling the specialist your problems, but instead of suggesting the £150 skin treatment she tells you to simply buy this cream for £20.
It was one of those weird moments. I wanted to say, ‘no, I want that big expensive looking laser on my face’, but I couldn’t, so I just went along with it. For the first time in my life not being able to say no was a wonderful thing 🙃
She took it off the she shelf and handed it to me..."so what does this do then and what are the ingredients?" I asked.
At this point I'm expecting to hear the lady throw out some fancy words or terms, you know like those pretty doctors in cute skirts do on Harley Street, and to maybe even mention either some sort of trending skin ingredient such as Retinol or some sort of acid that sounds like it should be used to clean out the engine of my Ford KA.
Instead she said, "It repairs the skin barrier function. If we can repair the barrier function then your skin issues will disappear. All the ingredients are completely natural. It's exactly what you need to try and your skin will get a much needed rest from those harsh chemicals and treatments".
I literally had no idea what she was talking about, she sounded more like a fortune teller than a skin specialist. One thing I knew for sure was that she was extremely confident, so much so that she went on to say, “All I want you to do is use it for 2 weeks. If you don't notice a significant difference then come back and we can take it from there."
It would be reallllllly cliché to say, ’AND THE REST IS HISTORY’, but it really is. How it works? I dunno. Why it works? I dunno. But we shouldn't always go looking for the why, sometimes you've just got to appreciate that you actually found that needle in the haystack you've been longing for!
You're probably wondering why I haven't mentioned the product yet. That's because this isn't some sales pitch! I wanted people to actually read about my experience rather than just seeing the product and clicking it!
BUT FIRST! Let's get a bit 'nerdy' and look at what the barrier function is. Oh, and for those impatient ones (like me) who are probably sat there thinking, SHUT UP AND TELL ME WHAT IT IS, it's coming. 😁
Barrier Function
What you need to know.
1
Caused by an impaired Barrier Function
• Eczema/Dermatitis
• Psoriasis
• Acne
• Burns
• Sunburn
• Nappy rash
• Skin infections
• Toxins in the skin.
• Dry skin
• Excess sebum
• Stretch marks
• Redness/Rosacea
2
The Problem
The skin barrier function is there to protect your skin from potential problems. If it has been impaired or compromised it will show as irritated skin in various forms such as: acne, dermatitis, eczema and more.
3
The Solution
When the skin barrier function is working efficiently your skin will glow and look radiant as the skin continues to retain water. When the skin is hydrated and contains sufficient lipids, harmful toxins are unable to penetrate the skin, preventing it from inflammation and numerous skin issues.
Yay the product!
